Thread: New DDR-style game lets you use your own CDs

  1. PlayStation 2 New DDR-style game lets you use your own CDs

    Taken from Next-Gen:

Though Konami’s the granddaddy of the dance-mat games, there’s a new contender on the dance floor—Codemasters’s Dance Factory, shipping this month for PS2. Like SuperNOVA, Dance Factory has EyeToy support, a fitness mode, and multiplayer options. What’s unique, though, is that players can dance to their own CDs; the game generates steps based on the beats of the music. The game has five licensed tracks, but the player’s own music collection is likely what will attract them.
It's about time a game like this took on a Vib-Ribbonish quality. Thing is though, the steps will probably be weird and unintuitive.

Guess we'll find out next month.

Solution: Include a step editor that not only allows you to generate your own complete set of steps but also alter the computer-generated steplist.
