This can be the best game ever.
Dumb question maybe...I just finished w/ 60 stars and a working on the rest. Is there a way to "select" the comet stages, or are they still random?
They are random (though you can choose to replay them any time after you've finished 'em). The easiest way to know when there's a comet is to look on the map at the front of the overworld, behind Rose and her black luma. You don't even need to talk to them--just walk up to the map and look at it to see where comets are.
Confirmative.
I'm still playing Galaxy and with Luigi (FINALLY) and honestly, I like this 'bonus' over Mario 64's or Sunshine's. He plays different enough to put a whole new twist on the game, and I'm dead-set to finish with 120 stars all over again.
Although I swear I have no clue how I'll finish Luigi's Purple Coins AGAIN.
oh and +1 to the people who really dig the music.
OH! And honestly I like the storybook and the fact that it's an aside that can be read through or ignored completely.
I don't know. I have the soundtrack, and while the quality of the music itself is impeccable, and obviously crafted with care, none of the music is really memorable to me. I don't think I'd ever catch myself randomly humming any of the music from the game at work, for instance. While all the other Mario games used Midi, they all had catchy and memorable tunes (sans Sunshine). If I heard this music on the radio, I wouldn't be able to tell if it was just some random generic orchestral piece, let alone something from a Mario/video game, and I guess that was what they were going for.
i also 120 starred this mug.after i get through the deluge of xmas games, ill do the luigi run through too.
