Saw it Sunday. I agree with Yoshi. Except for the National Treasure thing, because I never saw that... and it wasn't quite the action movie an Indiana Jones reference would imply. But other than that, I agree with Yoshi.
The pacing during the first 20 minutes or so was really weird and that's when most of the groan worthy moments happened for me. The anagrams bit was part of that. Plus the fact that they seemed to have all the time in the world in the museum and weren't too worried about anything.
Other groan worthy things:
The police in general: This story without any police whatsoever would have been a lot more interesting.
The main French police guy wearing a button so he's easily identifiable as a member of Opus Dei.
None of that really deterred me from enjoying the movie though. I just had to brace myself to extend my suspension of disbelief further after that first twenty minutes, and then felt like it was unnecessary to do so since a lot of my problems from during that portion went away.
Ian McKellen did a really great job.
I've never read the book.

This movie sucked, plain and simple. It was so fucking dry and boring that watching it became a chore. I thought the characters in the book were pretty flat, but this was magnified even more having to watch them interact on screen. Even though I didn't think the book was all that great, it was still fun to read, but I don't think the movie captured that at all.
I didn't think this was a bad movie by any stretch of the imagination. Some scenes did go on too long, but overall I thought the movie had a decent pace. The acting was a mixed bag, but overall nothing was terrible. Some of the moments were kind of stupid, but then again, I wasn't expecting a super smart movie. Overall it was what I expected out of a decent summer blockbuster (I havn't read the book).

I thought it was ok. It was exactly the same as National Treasure with the addition of some blood. I'm sure the christians are pissed.
Pretty decent. Nothing amazing. Good story, bland characters. Sophie's identity was pretty much obvious from the beginning. The idea of using the body of Mary Magdeline to prove anything is kind of dumb since there's no way to prove she was Mary Magdeline. Worth watching overall, though.

On a related note, I am sick and fucking tired of seeing Davinci Code related merchandise everywhere. Who buys this shit? I saw this at Borders yesterday:
