The actual number is irrelevant... most of those polls you see on TV before an election are taken with less than a thousand people. And you're talking about representing 90 million people. Any more and its redundant.Originally Posted by Andrew
This may be a case of Sony pushing the curve for technology too fast. People want to have a better console experience with each generation, but if the costs are so astronomical that it's not economically friendly as a business model what's the point? It means you ended your last console generation too fast and technology hasn't been out long enough to be a viable option.
Well, all of this will be proof once the sales figures come out. If going softer on hardware specs and harder on new gadgets like the wiimote is the answer then so be it.
I expected more from a supposedly really popular magazine like Famitsu.Originally Posted by diffusionx

Maybe the next 200 people would have all voted for PS3 though. Statistics are as weird as vagina's.

If it was a totally random poll, it's valid.Originally Posted by Andrew
Who cares anyway, would you trust a poll of Gamepro readers? Famitsu is bascially the same thing.
As far as I'm concerned, EDGE is the only gaming magazine worth anything.
294 responses to a question with no bias would let you estimate the opinion of millions of readers with less than 6% error.
Famitsu poll results are about as worthless at predicting Japanese interest as the mag itself is at reviewing games. Famitsu polls have indicated prior to launch that the Xbox and Xbox 360 had a chance in Japan. DoA4 and N3 were in most wanted charts quite a bit before release, and neither has managed more than 50k, iirc. Blue Dragon is constantly in the most wanted charts. Mother 3 was in the top 5 for literally years and has hardly cracked 300k.
But hey, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Wii become a monstrous success, either.
