    Exactly.

The people complaining the loudest in this thread don't even have 360's. wtf.

  2. With the fact that the 360 faceplace is removable, they could have had the internal drive easily removable, and had this HD-DVD drive basically replace what is already in the unit.

Yeah, I know, there may be some extra hardware in this drive to run HD-DVD, but they could have done it. It just looks ridiculous having this external drive sitting next to the 360.

  3. I don't understand why it doesn't fit on the system somehow. Snap-on or whatever.

If HD-DVD really takes off, I'd buy one.

  4. I'd get this before a Blu-ray player. I'd be sweet if it was like $100. I don't mind the design at all, I maen it's a disc drive. Matches the system and any kind of "clamp" on thing would make it look even worse.

Considering they charge $100 for a wi-fi attachment, I seriously doubt it. It probably won't be too bad though, I'd guess $150-200.

Agreed. Also, it looks like it's the perfect size to put a Wii on top of (or vice-versa).

  6. i think it's fine, but i don't have great expectations for a dvd player's design. As long as it works and doesn't take up a lot of space, who gives a shit what it looks like. It's not a car or girlfriend.
That said, i would like it more if the case matched the concave shape of the 360.

It's not just MS charging $100 for the wfi adapter, seems to be the industry rip off standard.

This is still a good 6 months away at least, it'll be interesting to see what kind of shape the HD movie market is in. I'd like HD movies, but it's not something I need. Time will tell I guess.

No, Sony and Nintendo pack theirs in...

  9. Sony packs theirs in... for an extra $100.

    Woo.

Hopefully it plays the movies better than the Xbox or PS2 played DVd's though (ditto for PS3).

    Its still stupid, though.
You're missing my point. If the drive and the firmware have to still be in there, how much are you really going to save? $50 for a power supply?
