  1. no the original ending (workprint) for this one. you said you didn't like it and i was explaining why i probably would.

    He outright kills Michael in the original ending, which ruins the whole, he's the boogeyman that never dies aspect of his character.
    You sir, are a hideous hermaphroditical character which has neither the force and firmness of a man, nor the gentleness and sensibility of a woman.

    They wanted to have time before Halloween to insure a longer run. The day after Halloween everyone is over the holiday and moves on. Plus they want to keep a safe distance from Saw 4 to keep from cannibalizing each other. It's a smart move.

    have you seen the ending we got in the theatre? weather the doctor does it (and a bunch of cops) or his sister does (with a 357 to the face), what's the difference? seemed to pretty much ruin the boogeyman aspect in the one we got as well

  6. This movie kicked all kinds of ass. Anyone who thinks the original is a better movie is clearly just talking from nostalgia. This isn't a cheap remake like the rest of the remakes I've seen over the past couple of years. This is brutal, vicious Michael Myers at his best and any fan needs to go out and see it immediately.

    There wasn't a whole lot of people in the theater when I saw it(5:30 today)so I'm not sure how much money this thing will make which is sad because it was so fucking good. Either way, I don't want a sequel. It was so perfect that they need to just leave it alone. They would just cheapen what they did in this movie with a sequel. I already can't wait for the DVD.

    Considering it's a remake, I don't think there will ever be a sequel on the horizon anytime soon, so either way this franchise ends here.

    Know what would make me really happy? If parts 1 and 2 were edited into a 4 hour slasher flick, that would make this the best gift to any fan of the original since they do tend to play together that way.

  8. Critics fucking suck. This has a 20% rating on Rotten Tomatoes right now and that's complete bullshit. I just got back and it was a terrific horror movie. I really admire Zombie as a film maker. He has a complete vision for his movies and he gets it all up on screen. This was really well made, it wasn't stupid or corny, it all came together better than I thought it was going to. I've always held Mike Myers back in the shadows of the likes of Freddy and Jason but he was complete monster in this remake. The backstory was terrific, it really added a great depth to Myers and everyone around him. The violence and gore was really perfect. It wasn't over the top or gratuitous, it was visceral and terrifyingly real

    Fuck what the critics say Zombie, you made a terrific horror movie that everyone should check out. It really felt like if a psychopath was on the loose, it would have happened just like this. I don't think it's going to do well, there were very few people at my showing as well as the others that have seen it here. Oh and all of the girls in the movie were hot as hell (great scream queens too).

  9. I have absolutely no idea why the critics are hating on this the way that they are. The movie is great, and you can really see Zombie growing as a director if you compare this to his earlier works.

    I guess people in general just don't like horror movies. I don't get it. Reviews for Saw or something modern always mention how these movies are terrible and that we need more of the classic style of horror films...then something like this comes out and they all hate it.

  10. I just got back from seeing it. Zombie played it very conventionally in this film. I think he might have been afraid to take any risks knowing what an important film series he was 'rebooting'. I think just by having his style though he did make a very worthy remake. He knows how to make a 70s slasher; he nails the motif, the suspense building, and the payoff.

    If I had to choose between the original Carpenter version and this one, I'd have to go with this one. Zombie did add a little more visual flair than Carpenter did, but that's no dig on JC. He was trying to create a genre at the time, he wasn't focused on flashy camera work.
