  3. It's true, he's gonna do The Blob next (probably).

Why? Do you feel we have similar tastes?

A friend is wanting to go see this tonight and now I don't even know if I want to go...I've had a pretty shitty day and I'm not sure if I can handle a bad Zombie flick.
Hey, I'm as bummed about this as the next guy. But while the movie's bad, it's not HORRIBLE...it's just that it feels rushed, "been there done that," and very, very unnecessary.

Yeah. Usually when it comes to horror I find myself agreeing with you. That and we both usually dig Zombie's work.

I don't know if I'd even be this nice. It felt more like some kid fresh out college was trying to copy Zombie's style. All of the usual elements felt a lot more forced and excessive. I mean come on, how many times did the movie have a scene where a character just said 'Fuck!' for two minutes straight?

And he even made her unattractive. WTF!?

This is one of the areas where the movie was just fucking all over the place and just pissed me off repeatedly. First, we have a 20 min or so intro that turns out to be a damn dream sequence. Never cheat the viewer! Then we have the lame ass party scene where for no damn reason he kills off two teenagers in a van and is then magically at her friends house in the next scene. Even worse than that is a part earlier on where he kills the people at the strip-club...it was completely pointless and shouldn't have been in the movie at all. Also, to top it all off, there was a scene where someone in a car stops to help her on the side of the road. OMG I WONDER HOW THIS IS GOING TO END! Terrible cliched shit from start to finish.

It was an interesting idea that he just utterly failed to make compelling in any sense of the word. The new kid couldn't act worth a shit and Moon's felt more wooden and forced than it ever has. She can't pull anything off with the exception of Baby from HOTC and DR. I did like the child version of his mind doing all of the communicating though.

I also hated where he went with Dr. Loomis. Ugh.

The entire damn thing was terrible and by far Zombie's worst movie. I can only hope it's because deep down he had no real interest in doing it and only made it for the money.

  6. Agreed on all counts. This movie was lazy, pointless, and showcased everything bad and clichéd about the slasher genre. It's like Zombie just didn't give a shit this time around.

  7. I liked Chet the death bringer.
and Weird Al. Although he looked really big. Like he was CG'ed into the scene. May be he really is that big, I don't know.

  8. and yeah, awful movie, but I was forced into going and tried to sleep through most of it.

  9. If anyone's interested, Zombie's The Haunted World of El Superbeasto finally hit DVD this week. I was suprised it ended up being direct-to-video, I thought they were trying to release it in theaters first. But fuck it, it was looking like it might never get released, so who cares how we finally get it.

It's 12 bucks at Best Buy, I think I'll pick it up.

  10. No Blu Ray? I'd been wondering wtf happened to that project. Let me know how it is.

The other one that's been sitting on the shelf is Tyrannasaurus Rex. Just kind of disappeared once he made Halloween.
