Its interesting to hear that all of you seem to like this movie. As I stated previously in this thread, I really despised Napoleon Dynamite so I wasn't going to give this movie a shot. However, I just read that this movie is also written by Mike White who has written some of my favorite movies and shows. According to IMDB, he has written Orange County (YES, one of my favorite movies), School of Rock (I haven't seen this), The Good Girl (with Jennifer Aniston, another favorite of mine), Chuck and Buck (which is a really good, creepy, movie that everyone should see), and he served as a writer on Freaks and Geeks and Dawsons Creek which are two of my favorite shows.

SO, now that I know he wrote Nacho Libre and you guys say its funny, I may have to go watch this movie. Its funny how in all the trailers it says this is from the Napoleon Dynamite guy...just because thats what is popular right now, and they figured it would bring in more viewers. I think they should have mentioned the Orange County and School of Rock dude instead, because name dropping Napoleon Dynamite almost killed this film for me.

Wow, you're totally right. They should have named dropped a total flop of a movie instead of a huge hit in order to sell tickets.

If you go to IMDb's forums for the film it's amazing how many people were slamming the movie saying it was racist and degrading to Mexicans (like Pedro in ND). This just proves to me that 95% of the people on IMDb are tools. Keep in mind, I have yet to see the film.

This.......is a great movie. But probably only if you enjoy Jack Black facial expressions and you liked Napoleon Dynamite a LOT. I've seen it 2 or 3 times with different friends, and cracked up every time he Nacho breaks out into song about the nun he loves.
