And from his dying came a story. A story from deep within folklore; a story of friendship, honour and adventure; a story so extraordinary that if it didn't really happen, no one would believe it. Two men, a hearse, a dead rock star, five gallons of petrol, and a promise. And the most extraordinary chase of modern times.
I actually haven't watched this in well over a year. But I plan on pulling out the DVD tomorrow. I was lucky enough to stumble across this when I lived down the street from a small independent theater a few years back. This is the movie that made me think Johnny Knoxville was good for something other than getting kicked in the balls on TV. From what I've heard this isn't entirely true the the real life events it's based off of but the real Phil Kaufman (Knoxville's character) was involved in production so I'd guess that at least the tone was right on the money.

So give it a rent, download it, or buy it, you should be able to find the DVD fairly cheap now. Then come on back here and us know what you thought.

  4. I finally got around to watching this. Knoxville was a suprise, he's a good starting actor. Everyone was really good actually, and seeing Christina Applegate was a pleasant suprise.

The story was pretty cut and dry, thankfully the movie wasn't too long. You can only look at sand for so long. By the sounds of it the road manager has better stories from his life on the road than this one though...I've never heard of Gram Parsons until now.
