What an amazing goal by Frings! Too bad I hated how Germany played defense (good thing they had possession of the ball for the most part of the game), specifically the backline. Those 2 goals shouldn't have happened. Hell, one of them Wanchope was offsides. But whatever, Germany won and that's all that matters.

It's popular with kids and parents because it's cheap and safe. No one watches professional soccer here, though. The Dallas MLS team, for example, just got a brand new stadium built that's supposed to be the nicest in all of MLS. They were able to get it built because the city they put it in wanted a new high school football (the real kind) stadium.

It's funny how soccer is so popular in Europe but over here in USA/Canada it's not that popular. Well this year, I'm noticing a huge rise in popularity. I think in 10 years, it could be as popular as in Europe. It mainly isn't huge because USA and Canada have never won... I guess.

Anyways, it's a fun sport to watch. I enjoy it and my girlfriend loves it. So I'm sure I'll be watching.

I've grown up in one of those soccer families, so my father, brother and I have been catching most of the better games. Yay TiVo.

The England versus Paraguay match was hilarious since the only goal scored was Paraguay against itself. So much for the amazing powers of Beckham and co.

Sweden against Trinidad & Tobago was cool to watch. Smallest nation to ever qualify for the World CUp and they don't lose. Sure, Sweden dropped the ball a little and didn't play too amazing, but shit, the little team held up well.

Still waiting on the Brazil games, obviously, and US vs. Cezch Republic for their first round should be interesting. Too bad they won't be playing (Ghana? something like that?) first.
