I was reading up a bit about bid retractions on ebay the other day, and came to the understanding that you could only retract a bid as long as you either accidently entered the wrong amount ($200 instead of $20) or if the auction description changed significantly.
I woke up this morning, and found in my email inbox that someone had retracted a bid based upon the claim that my description has changed severly, when in actuality, it had not changed at all. I was just wondering what the ebay-legality of the situation was.
What they did was wrong, but there's no point pursuing it and forcing them to uphold their bid. You don't want to tr and fight that person over payment and all of that. Report them if you want, but there's really no point in it.
If it will make you feel better to help have him removed as a user, go for it. There is no point in doing so for the sake of your particular auction, as he obviously has no intent to buy.
It sounds like he's a shitty user, so he either needs to change his ways or he doesn't deserve to be on ebay.
I would send him an email telling him how his behaviour is unacceptable, and that if he does not mend his ways you will report. Maybe tell him that you're watching his profile, and whether you actually do that or not, it will hopefully shock him.
