    My Delaware brain, on the other hand, will remain at ease.
    N is your tax rate (assume its under 10%, which I think 48 or 49 states are).

    X is the price tag

    Price = X*(1.0N)

    Compared to paying in Delaware:

    Price = Price.

    Yep.

  7. As I mentioned in the HD-DVD thread (for those that care and didn't see it)... Once Sony can finally get their shit together and get dual layer Blu-Ray discs working, they will NOT play on the current Samsung player... so you paid $1000 for a player that will soon be worthless (Even sooner than when the format fails).

The delay will give Toshiba's rival HD-DVD player a six-month headstart over Sony. Samsung released a Blu-ray player in the U.S. in June, but few have turned up on retailers' shelves. Kiyoshi Nishitani, the Sony executive who oversees Sony's Blu-ray business, declined to state how much Sony's player will cost. The battle between Sony and Toshiba's incompatible formats is likely to keep sales for both down, analysts said. "DVD sales will go down this year because consumers know about high definition but they don't know which format to buy," Netflix Chairman Reed Hastings told today's Los Angeles Times. "The problem with picking sides is that creates consumer anxiety, and so they'll just stop buying, period, or slow down their buying."

  9. sony needs to just hand the market over to HD-DVD openly so we can have one format now

    instead of this "how many times can we fuck up our launch of the player and still have studios on our side, while the consumers tell us to fuck off game"
