lol Fucking wonderful. Screw that idea, then.
Keep in mind that BO: R isn't backwards compatible since they made a 360 edition.

Man, you would have been pissed. Your welcome.Originally Posted by ChaoofNee

I'll keep that in mind, Yoshi, thanks. I'm going to try a few things and then see if it's possible to just fucking replace the disc drive. If nothing works, I'll give you a contact, Yossy.
Sounds good.
Alright, now that search is back up and kicking ass, I finally fount this again!
I tried a Maxell cleaning disc, and it didn't do much of anything. First time it ALMOSt booted it up. I put it in twice more to see if a sweeping would do it, but to no avail.
So, does it still look like I should replace the drive? Also, is it even possible on a non-modded box?
Well, replacing the drive is about as easy as can be, and replacement drives are fairly cheap on eBay. Regardless if it's Thompson, Phillips, or Samsung, all the official DVD drives are plug and play, but thought they're the cheapest, the Thompson drives are the most prone to failure. There's also ways to modify existing DVD drives to play on your Xbox, the most immediate benefit being that you could put a higher-quality drive than any of the official drives, or depending on how you wanna mod your Xbox out, you could put a burner in it.
I put a $25.00 Thompson drive in my $25.00 busted Xbox and it worked like a charm until I sold it. It's worth a shot, I think.
My Xbox is failing as well and lens cleaners haven't fixed it. I'm resigned to waiting until I get a 360 to play the Xbox games I haven't finished yet.
