July 14th Famitsu to Contain Major PSP Announcement

Last time we heard there was some omgawesome announcement coming from Japan it was that some shitty developer was crapping a new RPG onto the 360.

Akumajo Dracula X III please...but I doubt that Famitsu would even make this a megaton announcement. The Castelvania/Dracula series has a pretty small fanbase in Japan and Iga is retarded.

Probably something Square Enix related. A Chrono sequel would be nice.

I'm thinking Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy. With the PSP floundering against the DS, the time is long since nigh to bring out the big guns and guarantee some sales.

Their wording is too ambiguous.
Are they saying it's a sequel to a hit PSP game, or just a game?
They also say "The game is said to be a sequel to a hit title" which suggests it won't be a new game in a long-running series, but rather a sequel to just one game.
I really have no idea what game could possibly be that big of a deal to japanese gamers, since I just don't understand their taste in games, but I can almost guarantee it won't be anything cool, like a new Tron Bonne.

It's IGN. They'd fuck up the wording after the news was known. I would read it as a new addition to some well-known Japanese series that may or may not already have a PSP entry.

Im guessing with as many games Capcom shits out on a yearly basis the announcement will be from them though. DMC or a RE port maybe? Wasnt DMC announced for this a while back?

I take back what I said about Final Fantasy. If it's a new Tactics that doesn't resemble the GBA one in any way, I'll take it.
