Thread: Things to do in Orlando, FL.

  1. Things to do in Orlando, FL.

I'm going to Disney in early August with my family, and aside from all the Disney goodness, I plan to stop over at EA's Tiburon Studios and take some pictures. Sea World is a definite go (my 3 year-old loves animals), but aside from the obvious attractions, what else is there? I'll also be with my wife and dad, so night life isn't an option really. Are there any museums, flea markets (hoping to pick up some retro games), or other stuff to look at?

Also, we'll be heading down to my old stomping grounds, Ft. Lauderdale for a day or two to visit my grandparent's graves. I haven't been there in about 18 years, so is there anything new I should check out?

  2. Universal Islands of Adventure. Really. Ditch Sea World if you have to. Let mom and dad watch your kid.

Im not sure about museums, art, or gaming places there. Usually when I go there its to see a show over at the House of Blues, and we usually make a day of it and walk through Downtown Disney of which, come to think about it they have some art gallery's there - that arent Disney shit, and have a couple of really good eating places.

I was just in Orlando last week. Don't miss Kennedy Space Center. There were multiple flea markets open every day on 92.

    Fuck. Good one.

And I dont think I would want to go to Orlando to visit flea markets, but I guess that possibility to find some rare gaming piece of heaven there overrules other stuff to a longtime gamer.

Oh, and when you go to Kennedy, ask for the bus driver named "Tex." You'll thank me later.

  6. Thanks. I've been to KSC twice, but my wife and daughter have never been there, so that's definitely a go. What I'm really looking for are family attractions, especially appealing to a toddler. This whole vacation is centered on her, so I'd really like to find stuff that appeals to kids. Zoos and aquariums are shoe-ins, but I've been looking around for kiddie concerts and stuff like that with no luck so far.

Thinking about it now, I'm probably just going to keep my flea market visits to Ft. Lauderdale, as I'd really like to go to the Swap Shop. A day there should be enough for me.

Universal Studios has some kid-oriented stuff, like ET The Ride, Shrek 4D, etc.

  8. If you don't mind laying down a few extra bucks, check out the Rainforest Cafe, the kids should love it.

I second this, it was the only thing I've ever enjoyed while in Florida.

  10. Your mom. If she goes to Orlando.
