Thread: When are they playing Desperate Housewives season 3?

  1. Friends is horse shit!

  2. My sister recently got the entire 10 seasons and has been spending hours each day watching it. Some of the early stuff is pretty damn funny, Im not gonna front. The later stuff is highlighted by Chandler's battle with weight gain. Not very good.

Family Guy got it right: Sarah Jessica Parker looks like a foot.

I hate how it degraded into such a boorish, witless, charmless comedy by the last few seasons.

Watching a rerun the other day, it's still startling how bad the Ross character is at the end compared to the beginning.

(Mind you, I'm a fan of the show and watched its end. But still.)

Completely supports the reasoning that shows shouldn't go past their 5th season. End it in five (or sooner) and get out while the going is good and the audience is cheering.

  4. I'll admit that Friends had a good first few seasons, when the writers were still trying and there weren't a million shows just like it. By the end, though, everyone's quirks were so amplified that they went from charming to annoying, and the plots were forever recycling themselves.

You are wrong. TNL IS the internet.

When Al Gore invented the internet, TNL was the perfect realization of his vision. Everything else is just fodder.

I watched a couple of Friends episodes with my sister once not long ago because, like diffusionx, she was stocking up on all the seasons. Some of it was undeniably fucking funny. Actually mostly just the Ross character. I think it was an episode where Ross was trying to scare two of the women or something like that because they said they were taking defense classes. They should have made a Ross spin off and not a Joey if they were dead set in doing one.

I'd much rather be watching Scrubs or The Office. Both shows are the best television show in history even though that's impossible.

I like the Star Trek model of 7 years and that's it (except for Enterprise, which sucked so badly the producers decided to disassociate it with the rest of the series canon).

  10. The only time Friends elevated itself to being watchable was when Joey moved out and Chandler got Adam Goldberg as his creepy Jew roommate.

I've never seen DH but from commercials it looks like a serialized American Beauty - smarmy and self-satisfied but potential's there.
