$11....I thought it was bad paying $5.75 + 1.25 tip for shot.s
They rip you off in cities like London and Paris though, seems like it's the same in Canada. Is it not so expensive in the US?Originally Posted by Josh
I went to a bar yesterday and ended up paying 9 euros for a drink, which is $11.
It's crazy. I would have walked out on it, but I was with a friend I haven't seen for years so...It was a good drink though.

Must have been some tourist trap. There's places here, like near Minute Maid Park, that will charge $7 for a mixed/shot. Normally anywhere else it's $5 - $5.50
Bushmills is 3 dollars on wednesdays at the Shamrock Inn S. Gessner

Yeh it was quite a busy part of Paris, 5 minutes from Notre Dame.
I wouldn't have gone there, but it's the region in Paris (Latin Quarter)where there's lots of shisha bars which my friend wanted to go to, and as a consequence it's touristy and expensive.
It was worth it though as I don't know when I'll next see the guy again and it was good to catch up, and we only had a few hours.
He'd been travelling round most of Western Europe, and then he's going to Colorado University to do business when school starts.
Normally it's like $5-6 for a pint of beer though I don't know the general rate for mixed drinks. I guess a bit more though, perhaps $7-8.
Maybe if you went to proper French bars you'd get it cheaper, but they probably wouldn't serve a foreigner.
$5 a pint is nice. I wish we would get served pints.
I'd love to visit Dublin.![]()
WTF do you mean you don't get served pints? How else do you get beer???

My local bar does $3.50 pint glass liquor drinks.

The last time I was up in Montreal I don't think i found a drink for under $8. Fun city though, especially when you are 18.
