Rumor has it than in Madden 2008, you'll only be able to play as your local (closest) team online. This is a "gameplay upgrade" so that Chicago fans are playing as the Bears, Miami fans as the Dolphins, etc. For a small $10 per team charge, though, you can add additional teams as playables. Also, to give enhanced features to owners over renters, the game will only output at 480p unless you register the game online. Registration will only cost $20.
