Thread: NFL 2006 Season

  1. All I can say, is the Saints are playing amazing tonight. I do not think they're the crappy team that everyone thought they were, tonight they're playing a real team (Sorry Cleveland but.. v.v) and they've got them well covered, they're making the right decisions, and everything is going their way so far. Perhaps it's the atmosphere for being in your stadium for the first time in a while, but if they can play like this, they are going to be something this year.

Edit: Jesus do I hate Monday Night Football's shit. Fucking talking politics with Spike Lee for 10 minutes while the game goes on, retarded shit I don't like to see in my football games.

God, IBTN, somebody please send Spike Lee under the superdome to find the evil white organization who caused Katrina and lock him down there, forever.

  3. Ah hell wasn't even his fault, the fucking commentators were dragging that shit on and on. I'm just glad he passed on answering a lot of it.

  4. I guess you're right, they could still lock him up though.

And Tony K will never be Howard, please just let Theisman knock him out on camera, that would be great.

I think Theisman brings up a good point about the field. It's new and the grass is alot like running on mud. The Falcons rely on speed and the field could be thier downfall.

Not trying to take anything away from the Saints; they are playing very well.

  6. Oh I agree 100% gamevet, I know the Falcons are better than this, and have definately shown that the field has taken away from their playability. Which is shown by the recievers not beating the defense on a single play (There has been an NO guy on each Atlanta reciever) and the lack of run. Add that to the fact you have a stadium full of people depending with heavy hearts for the NO Saints to win, and that's just probably the worst conditions to play in.

Regardless, New Orleans has played amazing, and I'm actually very interested in how they will do the rest of the year. I hope they can keep it up.

  7. congrats to the saints i guess, at least one team down south is playing well... fucking northerners

Aside from the QB rating which is close, their career numbers are almost exactly the same. Montana also played with a better running back than Brady ever has, and arguably a better defence.

I don't get how you can look at the plays Brady has made, how clutch he has been, the fact that he was 1st in passing yards and 3rd in touchdowns in the NFL last year, and most importantly his two Super Bowl MVP awards (one more than Aikman has, I might add) and say he doesn't have a big effect on his team winning. Tom Brady is unquestionably a great quarterback.
I totally agree that you can't separate Montana and Brady. Montana was exactly the same player Brady is. They have great leadership, limited talent, and great teams around them.

Montana: Craig, Rice, Taylor, Rathman, Jones, etc

Brady: Dillion way past his prime, K Faulk, Branch, Givens, and Coates.

I can't draw a line through this conclusion sir.
