Thread: NFL 2006 Season

  1. I can see the Giants revvign it up now but its gonna take a lot more than a 28-point win over Houston to convince me Dallas is for real. Redskins still blow, though.

Yeah, anyone who didn't have the Redskins last in the division was on crack. I agree that Dallas needs to deliver on their potential. They've pissed away leads against the only good teams they've played. Granted, they were road games, and Philly thought that was the Super Bowl, but that doesn't change the Cowboys' need to prove it. A win against the Giants would be a start, but you have to win your divisional home games, so it's not a clincher.

The Bears as a whole were overrated. The Bears D, however, is every bit as good as advertised. They go on the offensive and their primary goal is to score! I know all my fantasy football brethern can appreciate that.

How good the Bears really can be all depends on Grossman. If he settles the fuck down and leads the the offense successfully, the Bears are a Super Bowl contender.

I like Philly. I thought they should have beaten NO and they fell asleep against the Giants. The division they're in isn't that tough and has probably been a little bit overrated. The Bears will see the Giants in due time.

  4. I'm really likeing what the Saints are doing. Sold ball.

  5. Yeah, I've enjoyed every game they've played, and even if they don't make it this year, there's no way they'll be so overlooked next year. They have my support fully.

It's nice to see at least one of my favorite teams doing well. If the Saints sucked it up as much a the Titans and especially the Texans do then this season would be as unbearable as last year (finishing 32, 31, and 30 in the NFL LOL).

I know this is a little late, but all I wanted from the Texans this year was to beat the Cowboys so that they would have the dubious distinction of being the only NFL team to have never beaten the Texans (on more than 1 meeting, I think Arizona, Carolina, Chicago and The Giants, though not for long, are the only ones who can't claim to have beaten them.)

The Jaguars I guess have the most to be embarassed about, since their record against the Texans is 3 - 3. Playing only .500 against what might be the worst franchise the NFL has ever seen is shamefull. They play this coming Sunday. I will watch of course... Sundays always start so poorly for me this time of year.

  7. It sucks because the Texans I really want to be a good team, I like Carr and think he can be something great, though perhaps his leadership is the cause of a lot of their screw ups.

and I'm interested in the TItans only cause I've always liked Vince Young.

  8. Vince Young is the man.

Really, I wanted to like Carr since he went pro, but I just can't now. He may have been good but now he's damaged goods, he's so paniced out there (I guess I can understand why) that he makes boneheaded moves and can't find his open recivers. To be totally honest I want Sage Rosenfels to be the starter. If we had drafted Young instead I'm not sure we'd be any better off, but man it would be epic. If he's gonna play well in the NFL he'd do it the best with his hometown team.

Texans defence, on paper souldn't be as bad as it is, but there it is. Terrible.
The offence should be ok, but it's awful. The offensive line is as good as it has ever been, I dare say they're doing a pretty average job which is saying a lot of improvement. The QB is bananas, and there's no running back (heh... don't draft Reggie Bush! We need defence which will suck as bad ever after drafting Mario "Who?" Williams) but and I'm suprised our recivers haven't been barking to be traded... except Andre Johnson who is the target of 99% of all passes. Eric Moulds is damn good, he should be used more.

  9. I just don't see what Philly's winning on. Quarterback play? Coaching? Secondary? They look like the type of upper middle of the pack team that gets figured out to me. They're off to a good start so they can still finish 10-6 easy though.

The Bears aren't frauds, they were just way overconfident they'd win, like everybody else was. They aren't flawless, that offence can be defended by a tough enough D, but if the D is trying they only have to put up 14 points to win.

I don't get why nobody believes in the Saints. Brees is a winner, they have great skill position players, a ton of emotion, and a decent amount of talent across the board. People forget that they were predicted to do things year in & year out the last 5 seasons or so, but A) Aaron Brooks couldn't pass, and B) Haslett couldn't coach. Those two problems are gone now.

He's 5th in the NFL in passer rating. I don't think Carr is the problem.

    Wow. He's absolutely horrible. Why?
