Thread: NFL 2006 Season

  1. No one cares about the Vikings or the Patriots. He showed he has talent, and while I doubt any of us expect him to take them to a winning season (though in their division right now it's not still out of the question) he has great potential.

They can still win their division, thus be a top 5 team :P. It's not like they beat some shitty team, they beat the Carolina Panthers.

  2. LOL @ The Jets, 2nd worst team in the AFC next to the Raiders imo, certainly won't win 2 more games this year.

Browns looked better, their defense has always been solid, and I think the new coordinator went back to the basics. Run the hell out of the ball and hit Winslow often. He made the Jet's defense look terrible yesterday, kudos to Davidson. Now, next week, were screwed, the Chargers will beat us by 20.

    Patriots will win by 10.

  4. All this Cowboy talk's irrelevant anyway. G-Men are the class of the division, and I don't see Dallas beating out all the teams in front of them for one of the two wildcards.

The Cowboys are 1-0 with Romo at the helm, and they can erase a one game deficit to the Giants when they play head-to-head again. It's a two horse race, just like I said it was in August.

Thank you, the boys in #tnl disagreed with me.

  7. In addition the Bears are a really good team, period. I don't want to hear about how overrated they are, they haven't fucking lost yet.

They are who you think they are. You want to crown their asses? Well then crown their asses!!11

The Bears at home are next to invincible. The games aren't even competitive. I had been ranking teams like Philly and Carolina so high (in some weeks, higher than the Bears) solely because I felt those were the only teams - with their styles of play - that could actually go into Soldier Field in the playoffs and come out with a win. It's apparent that with their much publicized easy schedule, the Bears will get home field in the playoffs. This avoids the possibility of Grossman starting on the road, where he has much to prove, and where he has noticeably struggled (though he did come back to win in Minny).

More will be known about the Bears in a few weeks. Games at the Jets, Giants, and Patriots will certainly test Grossman's maturation as a young QB.

    Week 8 Power Rankings
    1. Bears - can Grossman do it on the road?
    2. NY Giants - do you trust in Eli?
    3. Atlanta - has Vick finally broken out as a QB?
    4. Dallas - does Romo's mobility assuage their main weakness?
    5. New Orleans - how did they look so shitty off a bye week?

    1. Indianapolis - is Addai the man now? What will Booger's impact be?
    2. San Diego - how will the D harbor the strain of these suspensions?
    3. Denver - is this team really a contender with Plummer at QB if they can't stop Indy's O at home?
    4. New England - are they really winning at this clip again? How do they do it?
    5. Baltimore - will this Billick play-calling honeymoon last?
