Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved isn't a remake of the first, it's a true sequel. New enemies, the scrolling playfield, and the refined difficulty curve make it more than just an update. The original game is in there as well, so do a quick comparison and check it out.

They have said that it's "Retro Evolved" and not "2" because Geometry Wars 2 with a 2 player mode is something that is coming to XBLA.
