What kind of debuts? I'd get a futon that folds or something, but maybe that's because it's just me.
My fiancee and I are most likely going to move back into my mother's house in the next few months in order to pay off debuts and save money for our wedding next next year (Any of you who want to come, just say the word).
My mother has day bed in the room that we'll be renting out from her that she refuses to get rid of, so we are thinking of getting a folding bed to roll out at night and put beside it so we can still sleep together. I found folding bed through a Google search which I thought looked pretty good, but I was curious if anyone had any other suggestions about folding beds. Thanks!

I dont mean to hate, but why are you gonna go and save money for a fucking wedding?
Weddings are like $25,000 nowadays.
You should be saving for a house and get married at the courthouse. Yea, its not what she wants but shes not the one living at her mom's.
Credit card, bank loan, car mechanic loans... ... I think that's it. It's basically about eight thousand or so in total, plus whatever my fiancee owes, so it shouldn't be too hard to pay them off if our living expenses go down due to paying a lot less for monthly living.Originally Posted by Joust Williams
Ideally I would get a futon as well, but she has a day bed in the room already and doesn't want to get rid of it, so that's where the idea of getting something to place beside it comes in.Originally Posted by Joust Williams
Haha. Yeah, we thought about doing that too. Well, we plan (We'll see how well it sticks) to have a low budget wedding. I have no plans to hire a wedding planner or any of that crap. We're looking at about 50 or so guests (more or less depending on who doesn't come or which people they drag along), getting decorations at Party City, having BBQ for the main dish and I guess hiring a DJ for music. We're toying with the idea of a photo... guy... or video person... but I think I'd rather have the guests all take pictures and then send us copies of them.Originally Posted by Diff-chan
So, yeah, I'm figuring about $5,000 for the wedding, realistically. We'll see how close that prediction figure is in six months.
As for living with my mother, that doesn't bother me at all. What does bother me is the idea of being in a small room again, but besides our computers and video game crap we really don't have a whole lot of stuff anyway.

Like Diff said, get married a courthouse, and save money for a real house.
I think you're all ignoring the primary objective: Get out of Florida
GOOF
What's so bad about Florida? I like it here.
I don't mean to hate either, but don't the bride's folk usually pay, or does it work like college where the parents pay but because of pride the kids "pay"?Originally Posted by Diff-chan
I say get married at the courthouse too, because there's a 50% chance of a divorce in all marriages.
You don't have to be smart; you don't have to know the facts, you just have to be confident.

That's the custom, but how many parents nowadays can afford a wedding?Originally Posted by Beefy Hits
I guess the trick to that is marrying a rich girl. But that's the trick to everything.
Unless you are fucking Mussolini with the costs then $5,000 will be your centerpiece expenses. The passive way you mention that tells me you will be paying for this wedding for the next decade.Originally Posted by Geen
I don't have a problem with wedding ceremonies, but they're ridiculous nowadays. My parents got married for $500, and that included all the dresses and tuxes. My dad and stepmom are getting married in a year or two and I'll be damned if they end up spending over $2,000, and they're only doing it because both extended families would like to have something formal. Family pastor, backyard, everyone chips in for a big BBQ, that's how my stepmom's family goes for weddings, it's worked six times I'm told.
I'm not a fan of church weddings with the reception party in some big hall with a DJ and all that crap. Backyards, a rented dress and some insane relatives sounds fine by me.
