Added to my Netflix. I love crazy movies.
This movie doesn't seem to garner nearly as much attention as it deserves. It follows the lives of 2 18 year olds, one an alien abductee, the other a child abuse victim.
As a piece of film, it is utterly flawless. Its visually and aurally exquisite (soundtrack by Harold Budd and Cocteau Twins guitarist Robin Guthrie), and I've never seen such dark taboo subject matter handled so maturely and in such light, However i can see alot of people being too uncomfortable to enjoy it. Still, I think its the type of movie everyone should watch (bar children lololol).
Buy it from Amazon

I knew I could count on arjue. Added this one to my Netflix queue as well, I'm looking foward to it.
Saw this tonight. I agree it deserves big kudos for handling its subject matter well, and the soundtrack is killer. It's also maybe the most predictable movie I've ever seen, but I still liked seeing it play out. Good acting too.
It was pretty heavily wrought with cliches, too.
Make sure to buy the soundtrack too. One of my favorite movies. I wouldnt have known about it if my friend didn't make me sneak into it! I went to see it again because i felt bad about not buying a ticket haha.
As far as being able to see where its going, I think that was intentional. Even the trailers pretty much spell it out.
Yeah, i didn't even want to quote the back of the DVD due to it seeming like a spoiler. I don't think there was an attempt at a twist or anything.
On a humourous note, my friend was too uncomfortable to scratch his dick while watching this LOL.
Well it's an old cliche to begin with, so it's obviously the first thing you think. I know they weren't trying to hide it the whole movie, but it would be nice if they could keep you going for at least a few minuites. Also, could this movie possibly have more gay stereotypes? Does every adult gay man have to have a big gay porno moustache?Originally Posted by perkyskirt
ahah, isnt it the 80s playgirl look? Wasn't coach the only one with that anyway?Originally Posted by Frogacuda
No, it was like every gay man in the movie. Except the long haired creepy old guy with AIDS, and the effeminite, makeup wearing flamer best friend, and they weren't really busting up any stereotypes either.Originally Posted by perkyskirt
