Batman: The Dark Knight

Movies like Nightmare Before Christmas, Sleepy Hollow and Ed Wood make up for duds like Batman Returns and Planet of the Apes. I just think the hate towards Burton is too strong at times, but he definitely has his stable of disappointments.

Actually, those are all Burton movies that suck, in addition to shitbombs like Mars Attacks, Batman Reutrns, and Planet of the Apes. It's suprising that I don't like Nightmare Before Xmas, since I totally dig stop-motion animation. Oh, well.

Edward Scissorhands, Batman, and Beetlejuice were great (all old movies) were great.

I liked NBX more before the goth kids got ahold of it. These fucking kids werent even born when the movie came out. /bitter

The animation in NBX is beautiful, but something about the movie itself is so dry and lacking in...I don't know. Charm? Personality? I mean, something's missing but I'm not sure what it is.

And yeah, it IS annoying that your local Hot Topic is crammed to the roof with NBX merchandise.

Yeah, but sometimes things that work well in one format don't always transition well to another. In some cases things need to be changed. I mean, how gay would Wolverine's yellow spandex/pointy ears outfit have looked in the X-Men movie? It's bad-ass in the comics but it wouldn't have worked IRL.

Everybody is focusing way too much on which actors look the most like Joker and not enough on who's got the acting chops to play the Joker. If we're just going by who resembles the character most George Clooney was the perfect Bruce Wayne....

Christian Bale looks nothing like Bruce Wayne but demonstrated in American Psycho that he was born to play Batman. Heath Ledger looks nothing like Joker, and he's never done anything similar before, but he's a good actor. Batman Begins was great in large part because it was filled with quality actors instead of big name box office draws. Casting Robin Williams would have just led to a more annoying version of Jack Nicholson's Joker.

Adrien Brody looks perfect and is a great actor, but I never heard anything about him even being considered. :-/
