Josh is right. And what's so bad about recapping your radical new amplifier? I like recapping stuff. One time I recapped this Pacifica Quad-Eight:

LOOK! It's Jade with a bunch of the channels out the thing!!! Tell me that's not cute SO I CAN KILL YOU FOR IT LATER

That thing had about 800 capacitors in it and some chowderhead had already recapped it and fucked up a bunch of the traces. It took me a little over 20 hours to finish. There was some other stuff wrong with it that they brought in some famous dude named Tom to fix.

I like to leave gear as original as possible. This thing has caps in it that will cost me a fortune to replace if I want to keep it stock (which I do). So complete cap job isn't really a good option.

I replaced the tubes. Didn't fix it. The next easy cheep thing to do is go in and reheat all the solder joints.

i guess I'm just frustrated that I'm working on it at all. This thing was sold as working and just needing a new fuse. And I drove twenty hours to get it. But it turns out I'm going to have to trouble shoot the power amp stage before I can enjoy my purchase. I don't know, maybe I'm just an ass or something, but I'm less than happy about this =/

btw, Pacrappa, what tubes are you putting in that champ?

Aw nuts, didn't even think about that part.

As far as what tubes I'll put in the Champ, I haven't the foggiest just yet. I'm pretty sure one of my buddies in town is stepping up to buy the thing. He's a big gearhead and I'll let him tell me what tubes he wants.

I got a new guitar pedal called the Great Destroyer, and its fucking nuts. i can get everything from a digital break up kinda decay to an attack sensitive tremelo from it. The fuzz sound is really nice and retardedly intense too. I'll try and record some clips tonight.

I recorded some samples of my new pedal:

Riffage in standard fuzz setting
Weird electronic sounding decay
WTF stutters

also, i recorded myself playing with another pedal of mine. In this clip, i'm only adjusting the knobs of my guitar, and getting really odd synth tones.
