You could go and have a bite and WAAAAAAAAA you'd still be hearing that one.
My answer was better.
It really was
I was looking for gritty while still sounding full with a little sustain.
I actually got a sound I'm happy with. I turned the master volume all the way up, the top boost volume a quarter of the way up and hooked up the TS9 (Drive: 2 0'clock, Tone: all the way down, Level: 3 0'clock).
I spent about an hour trying to use the amps natural distortion but it just wasn't working for the song I'm doing.
just got this thing.
It's a Japanese strat copy from the 60s. I love the sound but it needs some work. The bridge sucks (tremelo is fucking terrible), the tuners suck, the intonation is way off and the electronics need to be cleaned. I can clean the electronics myself so I'll probably take care of that pretty soon. Eventually I'm, going to get the tuners and the nut replaced, and I'd like to switch the bridge for a bigsby. Hopefully this will help with the sustain a bit.
On the up side, I haven't heard much else like it. The pick ups are unusual single coils that have a sound that's junky and kind of transparent. It also has a switch that's a boost of some sort. All together it's pretty flexible and I'm glad I got it.
Is that that Lyle you were mentioning from ECG?
*edit* Okay, I squinted and now I can see the word Lyle.
those pick ups look like the stuff Harmony used. If so, they're a real find. They sale for at least 75-150 on ebay by themselves.
stupid crap of the day
