Got some NOS Switchcraft convertors. Also took the big silver fucker to my tech. We popped open the base, it had a battery from the early 80's in it, and a bunch of COOL SHIT. Built in preamp. Condenser mic. Element looks brand new. Dude worked on it for free because he was so stoked to see a mic this old in this kind of shape. It seriously looks brand new.
I've never had any lessons or training, but my hand just falls right into first, second, and third position naturally.
It's super weird that I got this 8 string and fretless 5 string and suddenly I can shred like a motherfucker. Not like solos and shit, but technical playing. Someone asked if could sweep-pick and I said I didn't know what it was, then they explained it and I did it. Never played this well in my life.
My fucking 6 string bass and 8 string touchstyle are caught in the Christmas Mail Bonanza though.
Considering changing the approach of my custom to a 10 string bass with a low F# because fuck the world.

Do it. That head is sick. Acoustic makes the only good solid state heads that I've ever heard (except for my old 60 watt Trace Elliot). Crank that bitch up and it will sound like a swarm of icepicks tearing your life apart. I mean that in the best way.
If you can't use it sell it to my friend Curt, or flip it on ebay.
Talking to luthier about a 6 string fretless "fanned fret" for tuning with a low F#. Basically the bass would have lines to guide pitch, without frets.
I am in love with this idea. It's not even a thing ever done.
