Thread: Touch! Bomberman Land DS

    Yeah I got a lot of play out of the multiplayer too. But I was kinda of hoping for a single player that didn't totally suck. I just don't understand why bomber man still has a freaken time limit. Those needed to die with the 16 bit generation. Wario blast imho is one of the best single player bomber mans because it lacked a time limit.

    Awesome. I also like that the artwork for the game has taken a more "classic" Bomberman look and less of that overally round, circle black eye look. That look never really sat well with me.

    I think I played Bomberman DS' single player mode a grand total of one time. I do agree about Wario Blast -- it was a great single player Bomberman mode, but I think that was just because they set the single player mode to be so similar to the multiplayer mode in any other Bomberman game.
    If I ever play a Bomberman game by myself it is usually against computer opponents in the multiplayer mode so I can play the mode that has made me love the series to begin with. The only Bomberman games I can think of that I actually enjoyed the single player mode was Bomberman 64, Wario Land, and to a certain extent, Super Bomberman 2. Everything else is pretty drab unless it's multiplayer Battle Mode.

    Agreed. I really disliked the slightly deformed heads and different cover art they went for on the last one.

    Also, I let a friend buy BMan DS this time since there were already rumblings of a wifi version last year (when I saw a premature release listing in Nintendo Power for "wifi Bomberman" I knew I'd better hold out). Dual screen single cart multi is a blast.

    We also used to play a lot of 4P download matches for Bomberman Tournament on GBA. Download matches are the multiplayer boon of the last 2 generations. But for multi our favorite is always PCE Bomberman '94. I'll haul over my Supergrafx, multi tap and then we let the trash talk roll. That may change when I finally get around to buying Saturn BMan.

    Bomberman PSP is out in Japan now and will be released in the U.S. in the fall (it's already almost entirely in english though, so I may import). It's a remake of the first game with manual equip of items.

    Good: Outside of being rendered in 3D, it uses the traditional art style and supports game sharing. Bad: Unfortunately multi is limited to 4P and no infrastructure mode =

    That's kanji for wait, eh? Mind if I take screen shots of the rest of them and have those translated as well? The icon I grabbed for picture pack 3 was just done at random from the right that came with it.
