The Musuem of Natural Science in NYC had (has) an exhibit on all of the planets, overseen by Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson which excluded Pluto, even before the decision to demote Pluto (he was among many who weren't satisfied with calling Pluto a planet, asserting that even if it is declared a right-and-proper planet it wouldn't go in his exhibit) and he was flooded by angry letters. 90% of which were written in crayon by grade school children. He is, according to most 3rd graders, a poopyface, and Pluto is a planet, they've even been there. That really happend. There's some mysterious appeal to Pluto, so even if it's not a planet the public is sure to still care about it.Originally Posted by shidoshi

How many text books have just become even more outdated?
No, it definitely said that they added 3 more planets, and that a new class is being considered to fit those 3 + Pluto into. I don't write in the newspaper. Get over yourself kthx.Originally Posted by omfgninjas in iraq

They never added new planets, they just proposed the idea which was to be decided on August 24. Today. And they said "no."

"Yeah, I was reading in the paper last week that 3 new planets were added. WTF."
Again, I don't write the fucking newspaper.

What paper did you read then? Because the NY Times correctly reported it, as did nearly every newspaper on the planet that copied the news from the AP article in question.Originally Posted by Rich
