Microsoft Brings TGS and X06 to Live
After the sucess of their E3: Bringing It Home campaign (which offered downloads for users who couldn't attend the now-defunct trade show), Microsoft has decided to give this week's Tokyo Game Show and next week's X06 conference in Barcelona the same "bringing it home" treatment.
Beginning this Wednesday, Sept. 20 and concluding next Friday, Sept. 29, Microsoft will be making new playable game demos and videos and behind-the-scenes footage available from its upcoming lineup of titles.
New footage is expected from Call of Duty 3, Dead or Alive Xtreme 2, Forza Motorsport 2, Kane & Lynch, Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom, Need for Speed Carbon, Project Sylpheed, Shrek 3 and Viva Pinata.
Additionally the press release promises new video footage (remember, Microsoft didn't tell you before E3 that they were doing a Halo 3 teaser, so expect some surprises showing up on Live, too) and Microsoft promises
"There will also be a brand new Xbox Live Arcade title launch each week, one at Tokyo Game Show and one at X06, including a never before announced major franchise making its way onto Xbox Live Arcade." Hmm, what could this new XBLA franchise be?
Plenty of titles that Microsoft knows are important aren't listed on the press release they sent out. Where's Mass Effect? What about Gears of War? And wasn't Crackdown supposed to ship this year? It's a safe bet that Microsoft has something planned for each of these games at either X06 or TGS, but will their plans involve bringing something to your Xbox 360? We hope so. What about Halo 3? Microsoft definitely has a a few surprises in store for X06.
