Just curious, but how many people here would actually be able to use 1080p? I went for size rather than 1080p. It would have cost more than doublt to get the same tv in 1080p.

i'm getting a 46"/50" 1080p sharp aquos or a sony bravia within the next few months. 1080p panel prices are starting to drop already. give it a year and it should be abit more affordable once it becomes common.

No, it's not. The PS3 can't, either, for about 99% of games. You may see a handful of games do it by the end of the generation, though. Gran Turismo 5 will probably run in 1080p (when it comes out late 2008). I'd rather they use the processing time to beef up the AI, though. lols.

No kidding. The brain-dead AI in GT really sucks. I don't think Polyphony gives a crap about driving AI, let's just all stick to the line and ram anyone off the road is good enough.... So don't get our hopes up, it isn't going to happen.

I can only do 1080i and 720p (although my TV scales everything to 768p). No desire to upgrade to 1080p.
