lol, I really do hate the mentality on GameFAQs sometimes.
Yesterday, I posted the following legitimate concern:
Remind me why this game is full price when every street is covered in ads.
I'm sure EA has put some spin on how they're justified in charging full MSRP for a game in which we're being advertised to at literally every turn. I'm just curious what it is.Not two posts later, we get the following response:
Takedown and Revenge had ads, but not this many. It's seriously hard to find a stretch of road that doesn't have a billboard or ad-plastered van in site.
why is it a bad trend have you ever driven through a big city? its exactly the same as in the game I mean ads are everywhere so if you put them into the game it adds to the realism in a wayI don't know why it still fascinates me how willing some consumers are to, not only believe the bullshit they're fed by big companies, but then turn around and recite it WITH ZERO SHAME like they're reading off a teleprompter.
Also: Do you even have time to see the advertisements? Isn't this game fast as balls?
No no no. You leave GameFAQs bullshit right where you found it, we can make plenty of our own here.
That said, I didn't notice the ads in the demo. Maybe I'm just used to seeing them in real life, but unless they're part of the HUD or loading screens or some other such bullshit I really don't care. I did find it a little humorous seeing 300 posters plastered on the movie stands in Rainbow Six Vegas, I kinda liked that they at least updated their sensibly placed ads.
I see your point, but honestly I don't care. I don't pay much mind to the billboards unless they say Burnout! on them.
I haven't picked this up yet, because I've been busy with work. I'll try to pick up a copy on PS3 tomorrow, and hopefully I'll be able to play some of you online.
So wait, is this thread trying to tell me that people actually care that there are advertisements in a racing game (a sport that is run by advertising) where you drive around a city (since there are advertisements EVERYWHERE IN CITIES)?
