Well, Madden, for all its faults, is a pretty deep game. Very complex, tons of modes, technical, exacting, and competitive. It may not be what you want to play but its not really a "casual" gaming experience. JRPGs are just shit and fluff that require no skill, just a pulse, to get through. That may be where we are heading, just all super casual, nonoffensive fluff. That may be where we are at now, hell Im just ranting.

...What? Do you play Madden. it as casual as you can get. yeah theirs deep shit there if you *really* look (instead of just exploit a glitch) but considering what i have seen from the madden tournaments i have been to no one gives it deep strategizing thought.

And considering the media and entertainment in the japan compared to us, you shouldn't be suprised at the RPGs or knock them for it. They buy manga and play Final fantasy, We buy SI and play madden. it's not a question of game quality but culture.
