I never thought of it but Sim City might be perfect for handhelds.
Hopefully it'll have all that neat shit Sim City 2000 had.

"Chuy, you're going to have a magical life. Because no matter where you go, it's always going to be better than Tucson."
Andy has made like twenty threads today. So far this is the only one that interests me.
I fucking loved Sim City 2000 back in the day.
I made the mistake of watching a totally misnamed "gaming legends" show the other night. David Jaffe, who is a total fucking moron, tried to make the point that Will Wright was the greatest designer ever and that Miyamoto was lucky to even be close. Jaffe is wrong about a lot of things, but that takes the cake.
That Will Wright portrait would be the official mascot for F-Chan Strawberry anime factory.
Will Wright > Miyamoto.
edit: if you guys stopped playing SimCity at 2000 you missed out... SimCity 4 is pure genius and one of my top 10 evar.
edit2: this game looks like a port of 3000... which was okay.

Yeah, I meant to say Sim City 3. I don't remember 4 being that much better (felt like a minor upgrade to me)

Wrong. It was 3000 that was the minor upgrade. Evidently you played 4 for less than 15 minutes or something.
SimCity 4 was a huge upgrade over 3, in virtually every way. The map and cities/neighbors were handled completely differently. The entire game engine and its simulation rules (which were identical in 2 and 3 mostly) was rewritten. If you had the Rush Hour expansion pack the differences were even more dramatic.
That is to say nothing about the graphics, which were actually 3D finally.
