You requested to be notified when the Sony PlayStation 3 Bundle is available for purchase at Costco Wholesale. This item will be available for purchase on costco.com on Friday, November 17, 2006 at approximately 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time. I checked out the Union Square situation on my way home from work tonight, and I would say there is about 120 ppl there right now. All of them in folding chairs and bundled up in sheets, looking like homeless slobs. The gate blocking the start of the line, had ads and news articles about the ps3, stating at the top of it "Its 600 bucks, yet the playstation 3 wont play many old games." Some people were talking about how they were going to "buy it for 600 bucks and sell it for 3000."

By far the highlight of the 5 minutes I spent there was this quote:

For those of you wondering, I checked out the situation with the free ps3 drawing, and it turns out you cant submit your name til 10pm tomorrow morning. I might stop by on my way to work, and do it, since I dont have to work til 5ish tomorrow evening. The small print on the ad for it says, "Only 2,000 entries are allowed" or something to that extent, so if you get a chance, I would say a 5% chance of winning one would be some decent odds. The drawing starts at 10pm tomorrow night. It didnt specify if it was either the 20GB or the 60GB system. I'm willing to bet its the former though.

As for tomorrow night, I'm getting out of work around 9:30-10ish, so I'll prob stop by and see what the status of the system drawing is. Like I said, I'd take one for free (and probably keep it) but I dont really even give a shit. If anyone wants to meet up for a beer, PM me.

Got to try the PS3 today at Target. Damn its even uglier in person! Motorstorm was the game I played and it was eh. Nothing I couldnt have played at 360 launch. The controller is disappointing also. I thought the trigger R2/L2 buttons would be nice and they are just ok. They curve the wrong way so its like your fingers seem to want to slip off of them. Couldnt they have at least demo'd Resistance, a game thats actually out at launch?

I guess its exactly what I was expecting, just a meh thats kinda neat.

If you have a TV that does 480p and 1080i (but not 720p)...guess what? 480p PS3 for you! 720p games do not upconvert to 1080i. Or so says a news bit on Joystiq.com

I checked out my shopko at the east mall in green bay and considering how small the electronics area was, I didn't expect to see a wall set up for games yet. I may drop by there friday and see if anything turns up, cause if they get some in and nobody's buying... LOL!

What the fuck its the deal with this thing? Everyone calls asking if we are going to have them and are dumbfounded when I say they are fucked. Like its a big fucking shock. And why does every slack jaw seem to think PS3 is going to OWN 360 graphically? Its like they can't understand that 360 and PS3 are going to be the same in terms of graphics. Well mostly anyways, some of the games for both units appear to be better on 360 based on early reviews. We did manage to get a few systems in today. Biggest console box EVER. It has handle! Awesome!
