SHIT! I don't want to buy a PSP, because I hate absolutely everything about that system (I have played my brothers PSP a few times)! Hopefully this sees a release on the DS. This game doesn't really LOOK that great, but I am a big fan of Tales of Symphonia and I see a few Symphonia characters in those screen shots.

Yeah, I probably shouldn't get a PSP just for this game. However, I was one of those weird people that paid $300 for a mint green Tales of Symphonia Gamecube when Tales of Symphonia was released. Of course it has been a really neat $300 paper weight ever since then I'll just make sure that all my friends convince me not to buy a PSP for this game...

Well tales of Symphonia had a great battle system, throw it into an endless set of battles in a dungeon crawler setting, then you have a good game.

I agree that graphically, it looks kinda unappealing.

I'll agree that the screenshots are pretty ass-tastic, but I'm reserving judgment and think it's something that looks much better in motion. Most ultra gritty-detailed 3D games are like that.

Anyway, due to fanboyism I'll probably have the import on day one. I'll post impressions here when I get it.

Didn't the other Tales of the World titles have lots of costume stuff for the main chara?
If that's what those last two shots indicate, then yes, i want that for something other than "OMG TALES OF"

So you're telling me that most RPGs don't have "the" town or "the set" of towns (as in 2), have quests that take place in "dungeons" or "ancillary areas" and put you on a treadmill to get better items throughout the game (and the enemies get better, negating a lot of the extra power)?

no, dungeon crawlers do, but just about every western and japanese rpg does not.

After Metal saga I expect all other jrpg to have that feature. Oh and the ability to zip with the quickness through battles.
