Thread: Steve Irwin Dies Exactly Like You'd Expect

  1. This is very sad news. I guess we can all listen to the "Steve Irwin" song now to pay tribute to the life of this great "hero". Yes, there is indeed a Steve Irwin song (to prove they write songs about everything):

Sting rays' barbs are at the base of their tail. I'm sure he ran into it. They can't whip out with them or anything.

This is sad news. Steve Irwin clearly was a little crazy, he loved what he did, cared greatly about the animals, and got his message through to millions of people who aren't idiots like Brett.

The ones at Sea World have their barbs removed...

Humans are usually stung in the foot; it is also possible, although less likely, to be stung "accidentally" by brushing against the stinger. Contact with the stinger causes local trauma (from the cut itself), pain and swelling from the venom, and possible infection from parts of the stinger left in the wound, as well as from seawater entering the wound. Fatal ray stings, such as that which killed Australian environmentalist Steve Irwin (although he was not killed by the sting itself but from a puncture to the heart in turn causing cardiac arrest), are rare but can occur if stings are improperly treated, sever major arteries, or are in the pelvic region or chest.[1]
    I'm laughing while i'm crying.

  5. Just heard the news, and was pretty shocked myself at the species of the murderer. I mean the man fucks with crocs, sharks, and crazy ass snakes, yet it was a stingray that finished the man off. Wether you though the guy was a nut job and had it coming, you have to feel sorry for his wife and kids.

  6. dam that sucks.....fig it would have been a croc

  7. I can't believe he wasn't eaten by something. He must have been harpooned like a trout.

  8. This seems kind of like that other guy (name escapes me right now) who lived with grizzly bears for months, maybe even years, and then was killed by them.
