i bought a wine haul online on friday. It should have arrived by now. I want to try and get into white wine a bit, but i only have some mediocre shit laying around, so I also bought some different whites to try out.

heres the list:

2006 Warrabilla Limited Release Parola's Durif (at a whopping 18% alc.!)
2006 Three Brothers Reunion Sauvignon Blanc Semillon (dirt cheap but a real performer, like the Yalumba Y series range)
2006 The Black Chook VMR Viognier Marsanne Roussanne
2006 Secret Stone Sauvignon Blanc

BTW tried out a bottle of the new Bacardi Peach Red tonight, it's quite good by itself, haven't tried mixing it with anything, I've drank about half a liter and I'm feeling pretty nice. About to clean my room (I know, super cool drunk time) and attempt to finish off the bottle. MY JW Red is still better, but I can't finish this shit off tonight, it's the kind of thing I drink in small spurts to make myself happy.

I loved the Jackson Estate when I tried it, very good wine that made me wish I had lots of $$ to blow. Besides that never tried a single other one you mentioned.

Well, almost all of them are Australian and might be a tad hard to find, especially if you guys aren't allowed to have wine mailed to you. The Gomersal is supposed to be particularly nice, but it all was highly recommended.

I do all of my non-impulse alcohol shopping at Vintage Direct, who do infact ship to the US but it costs alot and probably takes a while to get there (free domestic shipping for orders over $200 woot!). Well worth it if you're buying a case of good shit imo.

I usually only drink a bottle every now and then, so this should last me a month or 2. I still have some reds from my last shipment, aswell as some special bottles kept away for special occasions.

I was gunna post this the other night when it happened but I was incredibly wasted and couldn't even comprehend using the computer. I went out to jam with my drummer by ourselves, pre-gaming with about 1/4 of a 750ml of Bicardi, put the rest in a flask, and made the 30 minute drive out to the boonies where he lives. When I got there, he was intent on just hanging out and having a drunken jam since it was just us (and I don't ussually play guitar), so he poured the first of 4 'IrishAmerican Car bombs', which is basically a shot of Jack and Baileys dropped in a (large) glass of Guinness. Between those, what I already had, finishing the flask, and smoking a bowl, we were pretty drunk. So we took a walk (it's night now) to the gas station, each bought a 22oz Blue, walked back through the woods towards his house and finished those. Well he lives about a 3 minute walk from his job, which happens to be a custom brewery, so we decided to walk over, open it up and have a tasting. We each tried the 7 beers they had on tap at that moment, then grabbed a hand rolled cigar and walked 2 minutes to the local high school and sat on the bleachers to smoke it. When we were done with that, I don't know what fucking possesed us to do it but we went back into the brewery and drank more. So now it's getting on midnight (I got out there around 4pm) and I decide that since I gotta work 10 hours the next day I should go home. I got in my car and made it about a half mile down the road (it's the boonies, so there's like 3 streetlights in the entire town) before I realized I can't see shit and the shit I could see was movin all over the place. So I turned around and went back to his house and sobered up for about an hour and then drove home squinting. I'm amazed I made it home and upset at myself for driving that drunk, but I had to get home somehow and it worked out ok. That was long winded, hope you enjoy my stupidity.
