hmmmmmph. what to do with this raging boner i now have, AT WORK!!!!!
Would you care if that woman had dark hair and brown eyes? Would you even notice?
P.S., attach.
Fixed, just for you sugartits.
And no, I wouldn't notice.
This is so so true. She looks extremely odd for the Sue Storm/Richards role. Yeah, she's real hot but so is Jennifer Lopez, and Monica Belluci but just like Alba does now, they would look dumb for the role with crazy blonde hair/blue eyes.Totally miscast. We all know Elisha Cuthbert was born for he role.
But, anyways saw this today and I felt except for the "Super Skrulled Out" Johnny Storm v Doom fight scene, and Doom fighting the Four when they were in their shitty jet car, I'd seen everything cool and worth seeing in all of the previews. The cool Surfer/ Johnny chase scene? saw it. Surfer owning Doom? saw that too. Surfer swatting missiles and absorbing them with his board? been there seen that. The Four doing the power swap thing with Johnny? yup. If anything the marketing people for this movie could've learned some stuff from the Spiderman 3 team on how not to show your entire hand at once. But, I guess they wanted to show people that a Fantastic Four movie could look really cool, to get the crowds in.
- I was completely expecting Frankie Ray to become Galactus' new herald like she does eventually in the comics.
-Galactus dying? From an exploding Surfer? what?
-Did anyone stay after the credits by chance to see if there was a traditional 'Doom isnt dead scene?'
- Speaking of Doom. Why would anyone ever trust having him around a cosmic power that he can just take."Hey General, can I go look at this all powerful board that I can do just about everything with if I steal it? But I wouldnt steal it you know, Im not bad or anything."
"Sure, Doom , no sweat, man. I wanna watch you though. I got my eye on you."
Macmahons puny voice for Doom btw, just isnt gonna cut it for another Fantastic Four movie. He did not sound imposing enough with or without his helmet on.
- The Dodge Ram Fantasticar was ridiculous. I guess it was fantastic because you can go from Antarctica or whereever the fuck they were to China in like 2 seconds with no G-forces, and high altitude travel without oxygen.
I KNOW its a comic movie, but I really like to see when writers , you know, try to put some effort into stuff. They should have just given them a sweet looking jet/Blackbird like the X-men had. Comic tradition be damned.
- To me the Silver Surfer made the movie. The effects and look of him were just nailed down completely by the FX team and Fishburnes voice fit perfectly. Even in his power downed state he looked cool.
So yeah, I guess, the low expectations I had were met. I got free tickets and didnt pay to see this and glad I didnt.

<b> 20th Century Fox is soooooo certain FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER will be a hit that that plans for a SILVER SURFER spin-off movie are already afoot. An article in yesterday's LA Times says this:Feeling bullish on the eve of the release of its "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," Fox has already put a feature spin-off into development that will star the enigmatic Surfer, with J. Michael Straczynski currently crafting the screenplay.
[EDIT]Well, perhaps the studio has heard the negative static, since it apparently hopes to spin the new Surfer franchise in a darker direction to attract the slightly older demographic of its X-Men films.Straczynski is (probably) best known as the overlord of the BABYLON 5 universe. A new, straight to DVD B5 production comes out this Summer (HERE's a trailer. Select Main Menu, then the B5 Lost Tales window). He's also created comic books like MIDNIGHT NATION and RISING STARS, as well as writing for comic franchises like SPIDER-MAN, SILVER SURFER, FANTASTIC FOUR, and THOR.
Straczynski (aka "JMS") was recently announced as a the scripter of WORLD WAR Z, THEY MARCHED INTO SUNLIGHT (a Viet Nam protest-themed film...is this still being handled by Paul Greengrass?), and last year sold THE CHANGELING (originally a Ron Howard project, now under the reins of Clint Eastwood).
And, somewhere along the line, JMS has committed to further BABYLON 5 projects - assuming this Summer's DVD fares well in the marketplace.
