my 2nd film (which i shoot this weekend) will be taking audio seriously, the first assignment was shoot something perfectly exposed and IN focus, story comes second. The idea was there, the dialogue was the afterthought yes. Our cameras are not synchronous, so our teacher wanted us to tackle one thing at a time.

I never meant to post it as a film of beauty hahaha. I am just so happy and relieved i was able to light and expose it as well as i did. My Depth of field was off a few shots (and shots that didnt make the final cut) cause our cameras are pretty crappy.

Also, if you wanna see the kind of stuff my teacher does, youll know he loves this kinda random shit when content comes second.

My one experience with shooting on film was a Bolex 8mm Black & White EPIC.

It was the worst film of all time, just below Turkish Star Wars.

So I can appreciate what you're doing.


edit: Oh man, that video had a link to a Negativeland piece. My understanding is it was made by an editor at Disney after hours.

The funny thing about that is nearly every compositor or editor I've met does basically the same sort of stuff after hours, using materials from whatever show they're working on. There are an unbelievable amount of acid-techno remixes of well known properties kicking around on hard drives.

He doesnt tell the class about any of his works though (ive had him now for 3 classes). Hell we only found out till we started looking him up ourselves.

All of his classes at the start of semester is always a 1 hour speech on why you should drop. Scary the first time, absolutely hilarious anytime after as you know its half an act, and seeing sheer terror in kids faces, and half to more then half of the class drop by the next week.
