http://www.orlandosentinel.com/busin...home-headlinesThe future of the Back to the Future ride is short at Universal Studios.
After months of not commenting on rumors of the attraction's demise, Universal Orlando on Wednesday confirmed that the 16-year-old simulator ride will be closing to make room for an as-yet-undisclosed new attraction.
Universal spokesman Tom Schroder would not give a date for the ride's last run, though employees at Universal said they have been told it would close Oct. 1.

I remember waiting like four hours to ride this thing back in 1996, and it was worth every minute. This ride (along with Disney's now dead Alien Encounter - Extra TERRORestrial) were the highlights of that trip.
I think I got to ride that when I was 6. I remember it being pretty damn awesome (mostly because it was the only ride I could go on at the time). Sucks.
I went to Universal Hollywood a few months ago. Last time I went I think the BTTF ride was new so maybe it was 96 (I can't remember).
Let me tell ya, just about every ride not named Jurassic Park or Mummy is a broken down POS. For some reason they don't bother sprucing up any of the older rides so in effect, everything is dusty, drab and oftentimes just busted. The BTTF ride had broken TV monitors and the 3D film was super grainy totally ruining the effect.
The park is a fucking mess and there aren't even that many rides.
"Chuy, you're going to have a magical life. Because no matter where you go, it's always going to be better than Tucson."
is it uni that has the ghost buster car? I hear its rusting down too.
At this rate I really won't care when global warming covers Florida in water.
SONOFABITCH! That ride was amazing and it still stood the test of time with the exception of spider-man and the hulk at islands of adventure BTTF was the best ride out of both parks. The worse part is whatever they replace it will probably some stupid spongebob or current nick cartoon crap. I mean the ride had Biff in it Biff! How could you go wrong with that.
who cares its orlando., the orginal ride at hollywood is still there..
When I went to Universal Studios in Osaka, the BTTF ride was one of the few I actually thought was worth waiting in line for.
