According to the steampowered store, this version still uses Starforce. I'd assume you can use the same crack to bypass bypass Starforce, just as you could in the other two United releases.
Just a heads up, this is coming to Steam in a week, for those on the fence because of the copy protection issue.
Also, I love that Vista automatically blocks starforce and refuses to run anything that uses it.

that's dumb. How are they dealing with supporting Vista users officially?
Good question. Does United work in Vista? You mentioned that Vista has problems with Starforce, but United supposedly uses a much less invasive version than the garbage in earlier games.

Yeah, apparently this uses a new driver-free version of Starforce that isn't any worse than SecuRom. Or so I hear.
JUST USE A FUCKING CD-KEY. WHAT IS SO HARD ABOUT THAT?
And what does Tain mean by "not any worse"? Is SecuRom still bullshit, just less so? In fact, why do I even have to ask this question? Fuck that shit.
Was SecuRom ever bullshit? I never heard any bad about it.
And agreed on the CD-key thing. Online is such a huge part of this title.
"The Steam version of TrackMania United is protected by Steam and not Starforce. Starforce is used by Focus for protection of TrackMania United's game specific data. The Steam version of Track Mania United does not include the copy protection drivers from Starforce. Therefore, any issues that might be associated with the copy protection drivers in Starforce do not apply in this case."

Now if only I could install the Steam version with my already existing CDKey.
It'll be awesome to finally purchase a copy of Trackmania. Thank you for allowing me to support you.
