I'm sure there are others but I don't even watch TV that much anymore.

I love Law & Order and watch it when I can, so yea, I don't need to spend money on the DVDs. The only TV show I have gone out of my way to acquire was the Sopranos, because I don't have HBO (I want Curb Your Enthusiasm for the same reason).

Simpsons, I honestly don't own any of them, even though I'm a giant fan. Though it might be a good idea, because there is now more bad than good so the chances of getting a classic ep on syndication is low.

Oh yea, its not going anywhere. Your kids will look at it like we look at Happy Days or some shit.

My 12 yr old son had never seen Seinfeld until I bought the dvds. He loves it.

  4. You need to buy your son a copy of Weird Al's UHF. Stanley Spadowski FTW.

lol. My kid was a huge Weird Al fan a couple of years ago, through absolutely no help of my own I assure you.

I dig the show, but you might as well just write a check directly to Seinfeld by now. He really could use it.
Neither of those things refute any of Scourge's very good points though.

Personally, I don't want to own anything I wouldn't watch more than 10 times.

Seinfeld's a great show. I was pretty young when it was on, so when I watch it at night now most of the episodes are still new to me. I've definitely been tempted to grab a dvd set and just waste away the days with it though.

Seinfeld was awesome. I remember when it was on and that would be the only show I would actually schedule my life around the show (okay, not that I had a ton to do on Thursday night at 9, but still). I don't do that with any other shows since. And no, I do not TIVO anything. Most TV shows now are a waste of bandwidth.

Diff-Chan, like Scourge said, they're edited, commercials, thier schedule etc. In college I had a roommate that would watch all the airings, and it felt like the same handful of episodes over and over again, whereas I like to be able to watch what I want, when I want. Plus, when I get a new place, I'll be without cable for a while because I have so many DVDs that need catching up on, and NetFlix, I won't need it. So DVDs of Seinfeld will be nice. Also, as mentioned, the extras. If I like a show enough, I buy it. Oh, picture quality is far superior too.

  9. Im disappointed that they aren't bringing out a special set for season 7. I wanted it to be like the previous sets that included the mustard and ketchup bottles, the puffy shirt mini etc.

A soup nazi collectible would have sold like crazy.

  10. True story, I was in Manhattan a few years back and we went to get some soup from the place the soup Nazi was based on (this was when the original location was still open, before the franchise). The line was long as hell and you really did have to have your order prepared ahead of time. As we're standing there about to make our ways to the counter to place our orders and move to the side, some asshat drives by and yells "No soup for you!!" at the top of his lungs. A nervous laughter kind of rumbled through the line. The soup was awesome btw. And the bread, omg the bread...
