He meant Hard Drive. Core packs didn't come with the game, assumedly.

I realize this, I just find it kind of rediculous that the one thing people are pissed about is that there IS a pack in game. Because you know as well as I do Nintendo could have just priced this shit at $250 and said fuck the pack in game, you can buy Wii Sports for $30 if you want it. I'm glad they didn't, and I don't really want Wii Sports all that much, but when it comes down to it in comparison to the pricing Microsoft and Sony have where there are no pack in games, and games are $60 + tax, getting Wii Sports included seems kind of nice.

  3. Yep. I'm willing to bet the price would've been $250 regardless of Wii Sports. They are in business to make money and their price - while higher then the GC - is still the lowest in town for any of the next-gen systems.

But if you're being honest, there's no depth to Wii Sports either, from what we've seen. Yes you can play those 5 sports, but do you think Tennis will have the depth of Virtua Tennis, or Golf will have the depth of Tiger Woods or even Mario Golf? I'm in no way saying that Wii Sports doesn't look fun, but if you're talking about levels of complexity in pack-ins, it's no more than Hexic. If it were Zelda, you'd have a good point.

    Wii console: $250
    Zelda: $50
    Wario Ware: $50
    Monkey Ball: $50 ($60?)
    Three more Wiimotes: $120

Grand Ass-rape Total: $520 (or $530 if Sega is being greedy)

Hmm, I'm starting to rethink getting a Wii at launch. Or at the very least, maybe I'll just get one more Wiimote.
    Questions, though.
    1) Is this Monkey Ball the stupid Traveller's Tales Monkey Ball?
    2) Are you rethinking this in comparing it to the other consoles or based entirely on your want of the console?

I'm not saying depth though. I'm saying in terms of things to do, Wii Sports has way more to it then Hexic does. Which it does just basing off of what was shown at E3.

    wii boxing bitches...

  8. I'll agree to disagree.

  9. I don't think we'll ever see any killer-apps like Mario World or Virtua Fighter bundled in w/ systems anymore. They would easily sell almost 1:1 with the hardware launch anyway. There's no way a new Zelda would be bundled in with new hardware. So side stuff like Wii Sports or a sampler disc is what we're stuck with now.

Wii Boxing looks interesting. I can already see it having more potential than Mo-Cap Boxing, where the gloves are way too heavy to do anything meaningful.

    1) I believe that Wii Monkey Ball is developed by the original Monkey Ball team.

    2) I want the console, but I'm not too thrilled about spending $520 to get everything I want. If I wasn't visiting my relatives later this year, I would have passed on the Wiimotes. I'll have to see what my finances are come November and decide if I have to forget about picking up certain games or accessories.
