I wear shirts with sayings all the time, but mostly videogame ones. My "blow me " shirt with the NES cart on it is quite popular. I also have one that says "New Mexico: It's cleaner than regular Mexico". Not too many people like that shirt in South Texas. I try to stay away from movie/TV shirts because those jokes get old fast.
I have a shirt that says "Rape is not a laughing matter... Unless you're raping a clown", or something to that effect.
tshirt hell has some great shirts that will make people kick your ass. If you're into that kind of thing.
el oh el!
This is my favorite shirt:

Heh
The thing about funny shirts is that it makes you seem like you're trying really hard to be funny but don't have enough wit of your own to make people laugh. It's not always true, but that's the impression I get from them. I don't own any particularly funny shirt, the oddest shirt I have is an Achewood shirt that says "Geometry" and has a picture of a compass over it.
And with that, I find these shirts really funny:

I forgot about that shirt. I love it even more now, after seeing a Korean man in the emergency room last night, wearing a shirt that said "JAPAN" with an Italian flag right above it. I was sure that there was something there I wasn't getting, but I couldn't wrap my mind around that one.
I don't really own many intentionally silly shirts, but I'm sure wearing my Stratovarius shirt in a completely non-ironic fashion amuses some people.I mean, I have a City Name Sports Team shirt, but the only people who tend to notice or be amused are goony goons to begin with.
Threadless has had a number of shirts that really amused me without resorting to loading them down with too much (or any) text, though. I like that better.
I like a lot of Threadless designs but I would never wear them. When you wear a Threadless shirt it's basically asking people you don't know or like to walk up to you and say "Hey, threadless!" all day. My girlfriend fucking loves threadless.
