    Neo-Geo SNK TGS News

According to neo-geo.com posters who attended SNK's TGS presentation, There are some interesting new developments:
    • A complete Samurai Spirits (Shodown) collection is coming to PS2
    • A complete World Heroes collection is coming to PS2
    • Metal Slug is coming to XBLA

Samurai Shodown II on PS2 is the definition of day one for me.

  2. Magician Lord on XBLA. Give the people what they want.

During the 2006 Tokyo Game Show, SNK Playmore arcade project art director Nona appeared on stage and revealed that King of Fighters XII will feature a complete visual overhaul. Only a logo for the game was shown, and Nona explained that the game is still in the middle of development.

"We're throwing out the [character] pixels that we have been using for the past 10 years, and we are going with new graphics," Nona said. "We are hoping to make the ultimate 2D game."

Last week at the Amusement Machine show, SNK Playmore announced that KOF XII will be one of three debut titles on Taito's new Type X2 arcade platform. The publisher is also bringing its KoF: Maximum Impact series to Type X2, as well as a new 3D version of Samurai Showdown titled Samurai Spirits Sen, which is under development by K2 Ltd., the company behind the PlayStation 2 Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven and Tenchu: Fatal Shadows games, as well as Tenchu: Return from Darkness on the Xbox.

SNK Playmore hasn't announced a release date for KOFXII yet
A second shot at a 3D SamSho? Guys, you're going to be compared to Soul Calibur. I don't like your odds.

    Chances for a US release?
    Time for a change

  6. What's the spec on this Type X2? The first Type X was really underwhelming. I'm hoping this new one can keep up with Lindbergh.

Supposedly, Sony is going to lift its 2D ban in 2007 in the US, so these games may come out as budget titles then.

  8. Falcoon is going to talk about Card Fighters DS tomorrow at TGS. I hope he confirms Wi-Fi play.

  9. I got this info from Cyberfanatix.

    KOF 98 Ultimate Match
    - The game will be online [PS2]
    - Color Edit.
    - Choose between Original (MVS game) and Arrange mode.
    - Arrange mode will have more characters, more modes, small fixes (including new moves for some characters)
    - New characters confirmed : Geese Howard, Kasumi Todoh, Eiji Kisaragi, Kyo Kusanagi with his new clothes.
    - Terry Bogard has the buster wolf.

I wish they threw in Mr. Big and Wolfgang Krauser as well. My only complaint about KOF '98 was that they unjustly looked over the Boss Team from '96.

    KOF Maximum Impact Regulation A
    - KOFMI2 with some changes.
    - Armor Ralf is repaced by Ash Crimson

    King Of Fighters XII
    - The last game in Tales of Ash story.
    - Like XI, several hidden characters who won't have anything to do with the main story.
    - More old characters returning than new characters.

Looks like Mai, Leona, and Robert Garcia are returning. Perhaps, even Joe Higashi. I hope those hidden characters include more Buriki One fighters.

    World Heroes Collection
    - Online
    - Color Edit Mode
