Thread: Peppered chocolate

  1. Peppered chocolate

A few years ago I was making hot chocolate, and on a very strange whim I put some white pepper in it. Peppered chocolate is now one of my favorite things. You can do it with a few different kind of peppers or chiles, but my favorites are: white pepper, cayenne pepper, and red chilies. You can also mix it in with pudding/brownies etc...

I know it seems really weird, but it's phenomenal if you like spicy foods. Give it a try and report back.
    Boo, Hiss.

  2. Freak.
(Actually, that's sounds crazy enough to work.)
    OMG <3 4EVA

Yeah man, try some spanish chocolate. It has a spicy bite to it, and makes some good hot chocolate.

  4. Actually Aztecs and the first settlers in what is today modern day Mexico used to drink spiced chocolate. It was originally developed as a spice and chile and chocolate are not as uncommon a mix as you might think because vanilla, chile and chocolate all naturally come from land Aztecs used to populate.

    Alton Brown FTW.

  5. I watch good eats too I must have missed the episode where he talked about it.
    Boo, Hiss.

  6. Mole (pronounced mo-lay) sauce is a somewhat common Mexican sauce made from spice and unsweetened chocolate. If you have a Qdoba in your area, I know they offer a Chicken Mole Burrito which is very good (but very rich and filling).

  7. Sweet & Spicy FTW.

Chocolate and Peppers have been combined for a long time.

Same with fruit and pepper (strawberries and black pepper is supposed to bring out some nice flavours)
