    USA Up All Night

if there is one thing TNL loves, it's B-Films. And no other show gave us more B-Films than USA did with its Friday and Saturday move show "USA up all night."

    from wiki

USA Up All Night was a series of movies appearing late-night on the weekends from 1986 to 1998 on the USA Network. Originally, Caroline Schlitt hosted the Friday show, while Gilbert Gottfried handled the Saturday show. When Schiltt left the program in 1990, Rhonda Shear took over hosting duties on Friday. The program often featured cult classics, B-movies, and other fare not often appearing on television. During commercial breaks, the hosts would engage in some banter about the film or engage in hijinks around Hollywood.

In 1998, USA decided to rebrand themselves, which meant cancelling or retooling many of their programs. Up All Night was part of that process. They decided to relieve Shear and Gottfried of their hosting duties and present films that appealed to more viewers.

I really miss USA up all night. It was very important part of being a kid. It ranks up there with finding dirty magazines, riding tonka trucks down hills, water balloon fights, and putting bugs on your sisters.

Hopefully one day a network will wise up and give us the B-movie equiv of Cartoon network. Today's children are mssing out on important movies like The Toxic Avenger and Class Of Nuke'Em High

  2. I used to LOVE the USA Network. That and sci-fi channel when they were fucking awesome in the early/mid 90s.

  3. I didn't know there was a C.H.U.D. 2! I'll have to track that one down.

Didn't know there was a sequel to "Ferocious Female Freedom Fighters" as well. The first one was my favorite TROMA movie - they comedically overdubbed some South Asian movie about women wrestlers.

    "Chez Pierre, holy shit!"

  4. I used to watch that as a kid too, wassn't there another late night show that came on after up all night? I can't remember the name of it but I think it had night in the title, I just remember the lil promo things they played before and after commercial breaks. I think they had a horror block show too, wish I could remember the names of some of the old movies I thought were neat back then.

  5. I loved up all night when I was a little kid! I think namely due to the fact that I thought Rhonda Shear was hot as hell.

  6. I used to watch this and TNT's Monster Vision all of the time, but I had completely forgotton about Up all Night.

"All creatures will DIE, and all things will be BROKEN: That is the law of the SAMURAI."

  9. I used to watch this thinking it would show boobies. Always disappointed.

But, shows like this need to be back on the air. Monster Vision, Up All Night, shit even MST3k.
