$22k, dayyamn, nice buy! For that, you might be able to fenagle an 06 Mustang GT or maybe a Mazdaspeed3, but that'd be hard. RX-8 is definitely a good choice, especially if it's the car you want. It's worth living with some downsides to get what you really want.

Anyone have an opinion on clear bras? I'm worried about the notoriously thin paint.
Never used one, but Car and Driver had a short blurb in a recent long-term test about a clear bra. Said it didn't do anything to stop rocks (they chipped right through it) so it really only stopped dirt and bugs...which are easier to clean off than applying and cleaning the clear bra.

  2. Yeah I don't like bras either. Clear to me is like putting plastic slipcovers on a sofa, it looks gaudy. But putting tint on windows is almost a must. The second pic where you took the pic of the car from the side. The glare is ridiculous.

  3. Not exactly a car, but I'll be adding this to my garage on Saturday assuming all goes well...

It's on the small (and cheap) side, but it will be my first bike. 2007 Yamaha V Star Classic. I'm totally stoked, got my permit today.

  4. that's awesome. don't kill yourself.

This is true, I can't wait to find out how it does with upgraded suspension and tires. Last year when I went I tore up the American cars and most of the non-turbos, but the 3rd gen RX-7s ate me for lunch.

Now that I have a better setup and some driving classes behind me, no one is going to shake me, provided I actually have the balls to really push the car.

Heh, yeah just don't get too carried away. Oh yeah, make sure your tires are top notch too. People always overlook tires. Great suspension + sloppy tires = waste.

  8. What do you guys think of the Dodge Magnum? I'm thinking about searching out for a used one.
